The past month and a half has been bustling with activity here at Balsam Moon Preserve, and once again the question of balance and keeping it simple arises. While all the activity has been AMAZING, we do seek that balance of "what is enough", especially when it seems so MUCH calls to be done, to be present, to be manifesting. And then to do / be in balance with nature as well and all living creatures around us.
The late arrival of Spring thrust us into a flurry of activity with landscaping projects, wood splitting, and gardening as we awaited the warming of the soil to get spring seedlings & dahlia tubers in the ground, KNOWING that if we planted too early, they'd die from the chill. Ahhhh, we are antsy human creatures trying to follow the "letter of the calendar" rather than wait upon Mother Nature and her timeline, trusting she knows best!
We've participated in Back to Basics Vendor Fair, were part of an area Solar Tour by Minnesota
Interfaith Power & Light, birding and nature walks, self myofascial release class, our first pizza night with live music (thank you Charley Wagner & Mama Wags!), group hostings with Region Five Development Commission, a Women's Circle Potluck, and soon hosting Strong Women & Climate Change conversation with KAXE community radio's Heidi Holtan and Laura Connelly facilitating. Our participation in local life with the Pine River-Backus Community Gardens, the Pine River Farmers' Market and Bungo Township's Annual Picnic all engage us in building community as well. And then , of course, there are family celebrations with graduations & birthdays & reunions.
In the midst of all that LIVING we've had some class cancellations due to illness and other health challenges that help keep us ever mindful to align our hearts and actions.
It's ALL good, along with the reminders to be present, to be mindful in the moments, and keep listening to our hearts, each other, Mother Earth ... to guide us toward healing and wholeness.
May YOU find a sense of peace, healing and wholeness through all your "doings" and "beings" this summer as you choose those activities, and NON-activities, that nurture your soul and physical being.
